Sundowns did eliminate record holders Al Ahly in the semi-finals, which prompted the Egyptian outfit to part ways with coach Marcel Koller.
With former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro in charge, Former Zamalek star Khaled Al-Ghandour Al Ahly are the favourites but they will face some serious competition.
"Al-Ahly is the champion of the league next season, and the champion of the African Champions League as well, and there will be strong competition from Pyramids, Nahda Berkan, and Sundowns," he said on Facebook, as per Ysscores.
"As for Zamalek, God willing, they will be the champions of the Confederation."
