Teams competing in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup preliminary rounds have received a financial boost from the Confédération Africaine de Football.
The draw for the preliminary rounds were made on Saturday afternoon, with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates competing in the first round next month.

Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger will be also be competing in the Champions League preliminary round against FC Fassell of Liberia.
The African football governing body recently announced that teams competing in the first two rounds of the Champions League and Confederation Cup will receive $100,000 (R1.7million).
"This season, teams eliminated in the first two rounds will each receive USD 100,000 to assist with logistical costs, as CAF continues its strategy of encouraging broader participation and competitive balance across the continent," CAF confirmed on their website.
"The road to the 2025/26 title will begin with the Preliminary Round between 19–21 September (first leg) and 26–28 September (second leg)."
CAF also confirmed that there are record 62 teams competing in this season's Champions League, although Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly were the only sides given a bye in the preliminary round.
