Zamalek's stance on Pitso 'revealed'

Amidst speculation that Pitso Mosimane has attracted interest from Zamalek, the Egyptian giants have reportedly revealed their stance on the South African coach.

Recent reports across the continent have indicated that Zamalek have placed the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician on their shortlist as a candidate to become their head coach.

This follows reports suggesting that the White Knights are contemplating a possible separation from current coach Jose Peseiro due to disappointing results in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The uncertainty surrounding the Portuguese coach’s future at the club has reportedly been triggered by the team's exit from the competition at the hands of Stellenbosch FC in the quarterfinals.

It is said that the Egyptian Premier League powerhouse have already commenced the process of assessing the CVs of several foreign coaches to replace Peseiro.

According to multiple reports, Mosimane is amongst the top candidates to lead the five-time CAF Champions League winners next season.

However, Zahraa website reports that Zamalek have not yet engaged in negotiations with Mosimane regarding a potential deal.

"What has happened so far is nothing more than an offer from an agent, and Zamalek has not entered into any official negotiations with Mosimane yet," Zamalek source said per Zahraa.

Peseiro, who is said to be on the brink of being dismissed from his role, joined Zamalek in February this year on an 18-month contract, with his team currently sitting in third place in the league table.
