Tanzanian giants Simba SC, coached by Fadlu Davids, have received a significant financial boost after securing a sponsorship deal with a major betting company.
In exciting news for Wekundu wa Msimbazi, as Simba are affectionately known, the club has signed a sponsorship agreement with leading betting company Betway Africa.

The two parties have entered into a three-year partnership that will see Betway become the club’s official main sponsor starting from the 2025/26 season. The deal is reportedly valued at €6.9 million (approximately R142 million).
Simba CEO, Zubeda Sakuru, hailed the agreement as a major milestone, highlighting its importance not only for the club but also for the broader development of football in Tanzania.
"This partnership will revolutionise football in Tanzania and reinforce Simba’s ambition to become Africa’s number one club," Sakuru said according to Focusgn.
"The 20bn investment over three years underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence on the continent."

Meanwhile, board member Salim Abdallah emphasised the significance of having a strong sponsor like Betway and encouraged Simba fans to fully embrace the partnership as part of the club’s journey toward greater success.
"Football is an expensive sport, and funding is key. We call on our passionate supporters to stand behind Betway, our official sponsor, as we aim higher," he said.
