Historically, Mbabane Highlanders are one of Eswatini's most successful clubs, with 13 league titles to their name.
However, most of their success dates back decades, and current club captain Thabo Langa is optimistic that Mkhize's takeover will reignite the glory days.
According to Eswatini Daily News, Langa said: "Preparations have been going well since we got here on July 21. The spirit among the guys is very high, and we are looking forward to our first official match in the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup.
"We’re building a team at a facility that is very proper. It allows us to fully condition ourselves for the upcoming season.
"The message since we got here has been to relive the team’s glory days. We promise to do our best with your support.
"The President MaMkhize was here the other day and made it clear she was about bringing back the glory days, and that’s what we are going to go out for in the new season."
