The Azam FC midfielder had been heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but it now appears that a switch to Naturena is no longer on the cards.

According to a new report by AfricaFoot, Salum has agreed to join Simba SC instead.

The 27-year-old is said to have signed a two-year deal with Fadlu Davids’ side after opting not to extend his contract at Azam.

Salum is also reportedly drawn to the opportunity of playing in CAF competitions.

It is believed that the only remaining step is for Simba and Azam to agree on a transfer fee.

Rwandan journalist Eric Ndagijimana claims that Simba will pay a fee of around €150,000 (approximately R3.1 million) to secure Salum’s services.

The player is currently on international duty with Tanzania ahead of the 2024 CAF African Nations Championship.
