Chiefs & Bucs to miss out on major target?

An African star who was previously said to be a target for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is reportedly on the verge of joining Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.

Young Africans attacker Stephane Aziz Ki is said to be on his way to joining former Rulani Mokwena's team Wydad AC in the upcoming season.

The left-footed forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Botola Pro League giants since last season as he was one of Mokwena's top signing priorities before the coach was fired.

Although they could not secure his signature during the South African coach's tenure, it is now said that Aziz Ki will be plying his trade at Wydad next season after Yanga agreed to let him go.

Several reports have indicated that the 29-year-old star will soon be unveiled as a Wydad player, having signed a two-year deal with the three-time CAF Champions League winners.

Aziz Ki was linked with Chiefs and Pirates in the recent transfer windows, but any of that potential moves did not materialise as he continued showing his talent at Tanzanian Premier League outfit Yanga.

The Burkina Faso talented footballer was in action on Sunday night when Yanga beat JKT Tanzania 2-0 to reach the CRDB Bank Federation Cup final.

With Aziz Ki now looking set to join the Red Castle, it means Amakhosi and the Buccaneers have suffered major blow ahead of the new season.

Aziz Ki's signing for Wydad is seen as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the Club World Cup, where they will face Manchester City, Juventus, and UAE club Al Ain FC.
