Comitis’ comments follow after the Citizens acquired the services of the 25-year-old former Ajax Cape Town midfielder following a long time in the doldrums.
Comitis has conceded that the capture of Graham could not have been better orchestrated, jokingly adding it was done "intentionally".
"We, or rather Benni [McCarthy] immediately made the call to Travis," Comitis tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"We also had one or two other options we considered but decided that Travis will be the one. He’s a good kid and he’s got good professional conditions."
City host Maritzburg United on Saturday (15h30) at Athlone Stadium and Comitis indicates that it will be too soon to give Graham his City debut.
"He’s a bit short on match practice but will get two full days of training with the Diski team and he’ll play in the side over the weekend as well," Comitis explains.
"By then he should have settled in nicely and we’re looking at unleashing him in our next game after Maritzburg, which is Mamelodi Sundowns."
Graham's arrival is needed as City have just lost injured midfielders Thabo Nodada and Roland Putsche for the rest of the season.
Comitis adds they were assessing Graham two seasons ago but decided not to pursue him as the timing wasn't right.
"We had players like [Mpho] Matsi and others operating in the midfield and we had enough cover then. But hey, the time is right now and I think he will be a perfect fit for us."
