Letsholonyane’s contract with Matsatsantsa is due to expire at the end of June, but the 36-year-old is focused more on what happens on the training ground and on the pitch, while he leaves contractual issues to the office and his manager.
“Me? No I don’t worry about my future. Look I have said it before and I’ll say it again, I decide what I want to do. That’s my life and I’ll decide. I will not allow other people’s decisions to influence how I live my life or how I do things. I’m a footballer and I love football. For as long as I want to play, I will still play football, irrespective of whatever happens,” the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder tells snl24.com/kickoff.
South Africa is a big country and there’s other countries where football is being played, so I’m not worried about what’s going to happen or what’s happening. I’m happy now and I am doing what I do, playing football and whatever happens after June is God’s plans.”
Letsholonyane has not been getting, playing just two matches in all competitions in 2019. The experienced campaigner has played 10 Absa Premiership matches this season.
“Those things [contracts] I believe are for the office and my manager is busy with those things. The only time that I talk with my manager is obviously when there’s a window period. Any other day like now, I let him be and I let him do his job privately and if he needs to inform with about something he does.
“I have a team and I am training every, I am competing. I’m obviously not playing as much as I would love to, but it’s life and I’m happy still.”
Asked if Chiefs have shown an interest in him as has been reported in the media, Letsholonyane said: “No comment.”
