Mandla Masango, Jabulani Shongwe to learn Highlands Park trial fate

The talented midfielders, who are both from the Mpumalanga province, have been under assessment at the club for a while trying to prove to the Lions of the North technical team they still have what it takes.

"We haven't finalised our assessment yet and they are still training with us," Da Gama tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We will know by Friday, they haven't played in a long time so it's just a bit of fitness lacking there, but they are very good players."

Masango, now 29, signed for Danish club Randers FC after an impressive 2014/15 season at Kaizer Chiefs when he scored nine goals in 34 appearances. He scored seven goals in 27 games during his debut season in Europe but then left on bad terms

A loan spell at SuperSport United in 2017 yielded four goals in 18 games, with his last taste of professional football coming on 24 June that year. He has been unable to find regular football since.

Shongwe, 28, said he was let go by Chippa United during the January transfer window because the club was cutting costs.
