Nthethe is a free agent after he was released by Chippa United at the start of the January transfer window, ending a brief spell with the Chilli Boys which saw him nine matches in all competitions.
The three-time Absa Premiership winner tried his luck with Limpopo outfit Baroka FC a couple of weeks ago, but he could not secure a deal with the side as the club’s chairman Khurishi Mphahlele revealed that the 34-year-old failed a medical.
Nthethe had one training session with Bakgaga, but had a problem with his groin.
Nthethe can sign for any club that is interested in him outside of the transfer window because he received his clearance before it closed on January 31.
“I’m still planning for the future,” Nthethe tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“I do not have that pressure of having to sign [for a club] in January. I’m still planning, so we’ll see how things go,” he adds.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic captain has loads of experience and can be an option for clubs looking to bolster their defence outside of the transfer window, particularly those fighting for relegation.
