Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Luyolo Nomandela joins Baberwa FC

Nomandela has endured tribulations upon tribulations over the past four years, having failed to rediscover the form that led to his move to The Brazilians in July 2017.

The 29-year-old is now back in Johannesburg, having signed for ABC Motsepe League side Baberwa FC from Eastern Cape outfit Tornado FC.

Having previously made a name for himself at Free State Stars, the speedy winger has since fallen down the ranks after failing to make the grade at Chloorkop.

Nomandela has since become a journeyman after loan spells at Moroka Swallows and Jomo Cosmos while at Sundowns, before briefly joining Cape Town City and later settling for Mthatha Bucks in the First Division back in 2017.

With a goal and two caps to his name for Bafana Bafana, he has spent the last few months with Tornado but is now hoping to crack on with Baberwa, who are currently top of the ABC Motsepe League Gauteng stream.

Should Baberwa remain in their position, a play-off spot could soon precede their promotion to the National First Division next season, helping Nomandela climb back up the professional ranks.
