Chippa United bolster their squad with two central defenders

Keita and Malama have emulated Gladwin Shitolo, who has joined Chippa on loan from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

According to a source close to the Chilli Boys, both players have signed two-and-a-half-year contracts.

“The club has signed Malama. He is versatile player, can play both in midfield and defence,” said the source.

Malama is a 27-year-old defender, who has previously played for Nkana FC and has featured for the Zambian national team. He was part of Chipolopolo’s squad during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, coming on as a substitute in a match against Cape Verde.

He played three matches during Zambia's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

“Also joining the club is Bangaly Keita, who played for Free State Stars.”

Both players have already started training with the Chilli Boys as they prepare for this weekend’s Absa Premiership match against Maritzburg United.
