Mphahlele says the former Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns man, who was released by Chippa United earlier this month, went for a medical today and he’ll get the report on Tuesday, before making a decision to bring the player on board.
Bakgaga confirmed Nthethe’s signing on social media on Friday, saying: “Baroka Football Club have completed the signing of experienced defender Thabo Nthethe (34) on a six-month deal with a one-year option.”
Baroka are looking to bolster their defence in the second half of the season as the battle to stay in the Absa Premiership intensifies. Nthethe brings a lot of experience, but questions over his pace have sometimes been raised.
“He went for a medical today and I will get his report tomorrow,” Mphahlele tells snl24.com/kickoff. “I can confirm with you tomorrow. Don’t listen to anyone else, listen to me. I will confirm tomorrow.”
