The weirdest boots in football after Alexandre Lacazette minions inspired design

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette recently sported an interestingly designed new boot in training - take a look at some of the strangest over the years.

The France international striker took to Instagram this week to showcase his bold new Nike Merc Vapor XIIIs, which seemingly had the same style as the Gunners third kit this season.

However, each side had detailed imprints with a 'Minion' the cartoon character from the movie series Despicable Me, posed in the same way he celebrates his goals.

Trust the process

The other side of the boot had a very distinct quote, which ESPN reports is a famous slogan of the NBA side Philadelphia 76ers - a team he's publically supported over years gone by.

After a barren run in the Premier League, the 29-year-old striker will be hoping that his fancy new footwork will inspire himself back into goalscoring form.

Minionetts - Who, how, what, when?

His latest design was custom-made... who would have thought. But the brand he collaborated with has become a household name in making professional athletes stand out with incredibly unique sneakers and boots.

Although not always everyone's cup of tea, it's part of the modern game of building their brand and literally standing out from the rest.

The company has produced incredibly designed customed boots for the likes of Nemanja Matic, Marcelo Brozovic, Edin Dzeko, and Mateo Kovacic, to name but a few.

Did you know?

Lacazette joined Arsenal from Lyon in May 2017 for a reported €53-million.

Your thoughts, please?
