Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho joins Lionel Messi in FC Barcelona training return

Luis Suarez returned to FC Barcelona training after reportedly being informed he needs to work 'alone' and was joined by Philippe Coutinho, Lionel Messi and a host of stars for pre-season.

Suarez, 33, is said to be heading for the exit door after six glittering years at Barcelona with Ronald Koeman informing the prolific striker he's surplus to requirements.

As the LaLiga club look to get the veteran striker off the wage bill, Koeman is said to have requested that Suarez train by himself ahead of his expected move to Juventus.

However, he pitched up along with Coutinho, who's stint with Bayern Munich ended after winning the treble in a remarkable 2019/20 campaign - where he netted twice against his parent club in the 8-2 drubbing in the UEFA Champions League.

But with his loan stint ending and Bayern opting not to make the deal permanent, Coutinho will form part of Koeman's first-team plans in the new campaign along with captain Messi - who made a transfer u-turn last week.

They were joined by the likes of Frenkie de Jong, fellow loan returnee from Real Betis Carlos Alena, wonderkid Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele along with veterans Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets - whose long-term futures are too uncertain.
