Pule scored the winner on Saturday as Pirates sent Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs packing in their first Absa Premiership meeting of the season at FNB Stadium.
The 26-year-old popped up at the back post to tap home from a well-worked build-up from Zambian duo Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga, to whom he gave all the credit.
The former Bidvest Wits winger says it is a goal to cherish, having watched the spectacle on television through his childhood and wishing to one day be a part of it.
“It was a special moment to score a Derby goal. I will definitely remember this one for a very long time,” Pule told his club’s official website.
“We have all grown up watching this game and it has always been a dream to play in it, so having that chance and also scoring and winning the game made it a great weekend for me.
“Shonga’s inside pass to Mulenga was very good, and in that position we all know how dangerous Mulenga can be. He’s such a clever player.
“When [Itumeleng] Khune came out and Mulenga picked the pass, I was in the right place at the right time for the finish. It was a nice finish to a great build up.”
