A former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder who was in the heart of things during the Paul Dolezar days has joined the calls for under-fire Bruce Bvuma to be tossed aside ahead of the Nedbank Cup final.
Bvuma has copped criticism for Chiefs' failure to keep clean sheets, yet again conceding two questionable goals in the Soweto Derby as Orlando Pirates ran out 2-1 winners at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
This means the 28-year-old has now conceded 23 goals in 23 matches, an average of a goal every game.

A certain section among the fanbase is demanding for Brandon Petersen to be reinstated as the side aim to end a long-standing silverware drought.
Frank Makua has argueed that in the past, Amakhosi's trophy wins were often attributed to the quality of their goalkeepers.
"To be honest, in all these past years, the goalkeepers have been the ones winning games and trophies for us, and now that quality seems to be lacking," he shares.
"Itumeleng Khune, Botende Eshele, Brian Baloyi - they were all quality goalkeepers. Maybe the current goalkeeper coach doesn’t know what he’s doing, or Bvuma isn’t able to understand him.
"Even with crosses, Bvuma struggles. After all these years at Chiefs, he should have reached his potential by now. As a Chiefs keeper, he ought to be a contender for the national team, competing with the likes of Ronwen Williams," he goes on.
Regarding the goal scored by Makgopa, the man who also played for Ria Stars questions why Bvuma left his goal line.
"From there, we lost concentration. Even with the second goal, Bvuma should have done better. Mofokeng scored with his weaker foot, and there was no power in that shot. Bvuma is leaking goals.
"Very soon, he will be 30, so we need to accept that he has not met expectations. I don’t understand if the training he is getting is inadequate or if he simply doesn’t want to learn. Being in one place for too long sometimes makes you take things for granted.
"You’ve been with the club for such a long time and still make basic errors like Bvuma does. We’re talking about an experienced goalkeeper here. How many derbies had he played before Saturday's match?," argues the 51-year-old.

Makua says whilst he believes Bvuma has the qualities to be a Chiefs goalkeeper, it is his mindset that is sometimes his biggest letdown.
"The goals he concedes often suggest he has issues with concentration, especially when his defence is not providing enough protection.
"I’m more worried about the type of training Bvuma is receiving at Chiefs because everything you do on match-day reflects what you practice in training."
On the evidence of it, head coach Nasreddine Nabi has a big call to make on who starts between the sticks ahead of the showdown at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
