The latest edition of the Soweto Derby will come with yet another opportunity for Jose Riveiro to leave wild fig roots in this grand fixture between the two biggest clubs in South Africa.
Saturday’s match will be the seventh for Riveiro against Kaizer Chiefs and he will take charge of it out to go deeper with his impact.

He is already the only coach to ever win four consecutive derbies through the PSL era years.
The Spaniard has been on the winning side in this fixture since Sandile Mthethwa delivered an extra-time winner in the Nedbank Cup two years ago as Pirates ran out 2-1 victors.
Evidence Makgopa delivered the solitary goal in November 2023, before the next ended in a 3-2 win for the Buccaneers.
Then, in the most recent derby, it was Patrick Maswanganyi with the late winner for a 1-0 triumph.
No coach from both clubs has done four wins in a row like Riveiro since Pirates won the first PSL era meeting 4-1 in the Bob Save Super Bowl in November 1996.
If they get all three points on Saturday, it will also be the first time that they have ever won five in a row against Chiefs.
On their part, Amakhosi have won on five consecutive occasions before, though worth noting is that it wasn’t under the same coach.
They won five derbies in a row from March 2021 to February 2023 , making it the first time that one of the two giants had recorded five consecutive victories in this fixture.
Gavin Hunt won 1-0 in March 2021, then Stuart Baxter got a 2-1 victory in November of the same year, before taking another three points on a similar scoreline in March 2022.

Arthur Zwane was in charge when the Glamour Boys then won 1-0 in October 2022, before he added another 1-0 win in February 2023.
That now stands as the last win for Chiefs in this fixture.
