With the PSL yet to announce nominees in various categories for end-of-season awards, a surprise package at Sekhukhune United has been received backing for recognition.
In so far as Footballer of the Season is concerned, Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa has emerged as a favourite alongside Orlando Pirates' Relebohile Mofokeng.

Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis had a breakthrough 2023/24 campaign, which saw him earn a call-up to Bafana Bafana and eventually became a regular.
Former Moroka Swallows coach Brandon Truter believes Keletso Makgalwa, who apparently had more Man of the Match awards than any other player in the Betway Premiership (six), deserves a mention.
"There were so many outstanding players. I think Ribeiro takes it, he's a different class, always well aware of the expectations when on the ball," Truter told KickOff.com.
"(Iqraam) Rayners went up a level. There was Appollis at Polokwane City as well. I think he carried that team.
"Makgalwa also had a big season at Sekhukhune, I think he was key for them. There's a quite a few that stood out for me," Truter said.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger was surprisingly not included in the Bafana Bafana squad that did duty in June, though Sundowns players were excluded from the group of 41 players, later trimmed to 23.
He also did not get the nod for the COSAFA Cup squad.
Truter added he was surprised that Hugo Broos did not reward the twinkle-toed star with a call-up.

"But ja, it was surprising, at least the preliminary or be invited to the camp and take it from there, you understand," said Truter.
