The striker's season-long loan spell in Morocco is due to expire on 31 July 2025, according to Transfermarkt, which would allow Mailula to feature at the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup for Wydad.
It is now said that Wydad have already informed Toronto FC of their intention to sign Mailula on a permanent transfer.
According to Moroccan outlet Sport7, Wydad have submitted another offer for the 23-year-old forward, but the deal is reportedly at risk of collapsing.
The report claims that the Canadian club are making high financial demands, which could derail the deal entirely.
It remains unclear what exact fee Toronto are demanding, given that they paid €1.5 million (R30 million) to sign him from Mamelodi Sundowns in July 2023.
Mailula has registered three goals and seven assists in 25 Botola Pro 1 matches so far, as per Transfermarkt.
