Ngezana receives praise: What makes him special is...

Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana has been showered with praise by one of his fellow African players competing alongside him in the Romanian SuperLiga.

Malawian international Charles Petro, who plays for FC Botosani in the Romanian top tier, heaped praise on Kaizer Chiefs academy graduate Ngezana, who has quickly become a standout figure in Romanian football.

Since joining FCSB in July 2023, Ngezana has made a significant impact for The Red and Blues, under the guidance of Cypriot coach Elias Charalambous.

The Sebokeng-born star was named Foreign Player of the Season for the 2023/24 campaign, having played a key role in helping FCSB secure a league title and the Super Cup.

This season, he has again won the league title with the team and in recognition of his stellar performances, the 27-year-old defender was also included in the 2024/25 SuperLiga Team of the Year.

Petro highlighted what sets Ngezana apart from other defenders and why he continues to excel at FCSB, describing him as a special talent.

"He is a very good defender, and what makes him special is that he can also play from the back and score goals," Petro told Pan-Africa Football.

"I am not surprised he received such recognition. He plays in central defence alongside a Senegalese counterpart."
