CAF giants 'to begin talks' with Tau after Qatar exit

A certain African giant is reportedly set to begin formal negotiations with Percy Tau following the announcement of his departure from Qatar SC.

On Thursday, Qatar SC confirmed they are parting ways with Tau after a six-month stint at the club.

The 31-year-old registered four assists in nine matches across all competitions, as Qatar SC narrowly avoided relegation from the Qatar Stars League.

Tau is now a free agent and available to join a club of his choice.

Reports suggest he could be heading back to Egypt, though not to his former side Al Ahly this time around.

According to Telegraph Egypt, Zamalek SC's planning committee has once again presented Tau’s name to the club’s management.

Tau had previously been proposed as a potential replacement for their star player Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed, but the matter was temporarily shelved.

Following the announcement of Tau's exit from Qatar SC, Zamalek are said to be ready to accelerate the process of signing the Bafana Bafana star, with negotiations expected to begin soon.

Furthermore, it is reported that Zamalek want to establish Tau’s willingness to return to the Egyptian Premier League, where he previously registered 15 goals and two assists in 57 league games, according to Transfermarkt.
