With Dutch coach Andries Ulderink having been spotted at relegation-threatened Cape Town City this week, reports in the Netherlands claim he was initially expected to join a top European club as an assistant manager.
Ulderink was recently seen at CT City's training ground ahead of the play-offs to remain in the Betway Premiership.
The former Ajax Cape Town boss’s arrival during such a turbulent period is not entirely unexpected, as he has been linked with a takeover at the club since February 2025.

This was around the time the Citizens parted ways with Muhsin Ertugral, following a dreadful 10-match winless streak.
In March, Ulderink was appointed manager of Royal Antwerp for the remainder of the season.
The 55-year-old oversaw 13 games at the Belgian top-flight side, winning only two.
Reports in both Belgium and the Netherlands suggest that Antwerp decided against renewing his contract, despite the tactician enjoying a good relationship with the club’s sporting director, Marc Overmars.
However, Dutch publication Voetbal International claims that Ulderink recently informed them that he was working on a potential move to join Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The report adds that Ulderink was being considered as one of new Leverkusen manager Erik ten Hag’s assistants.
Despite Ulderink now being spotted at CT City, Antwerp have yet to officially announce his departure, while the move to Leverkusen appears increasingly unlikely.
