De Reuck has been up there with the best defenders in the PSL for the last two seasons and finally received recognition for that by winning the 2019/20 Defender of the Season award and a national team call-up.
Reacting to his award, the 24-year-old said it is important to be consistent and gave credit to his teammates for their contribution to his growth.
"For me the most important thing is to be consistent, to keep up my level of consistency. I don't really play for individual awards as it feels like last season," De Reuck told the media in Durban.
"The team has helped me a lot, so I must give credit to them [Maritzburg United] as well. We just go out there to help the team. I'm lucky enough to be singled out, so I just want to continue doing well.
"I don't play for awards but obviously I'm grateful for getting this award and people looking at me in that light. I just want to continue doing well."
The Maritzburg United star said being in the national team has always been something he wanted to achieve and now that he is in the squad, he wants to make sure he learns as much as he can.
"It's a dream come true, it's always been my goal to be in the national team. There is no better feeling than being here. Getting defender of the season was very special for me but getting a call-up, it's the biggest feeling," he said.
"First call-up, I want to adapt and learn so much from the guys that are much older than me. If I get a chance, I want to contribute and work hard and obviously focus on the two games coming up now and try to get six points.
"I know my capabilities and potential. Of course, I won the defender of the season and must remain consistent."
