The 32-year-old striker was on the initial list of players that Ntseki selected for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in the month of March, but those game could not be played due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last week Ntseki selected another squad for the friendly matches against neighbours Namibia (18h00 tonight) and Zambia (Sunday).
Grobler also revealed that the Bafana coach was upfront with him about everything.
"I think people don't realise there's a lot of things that go into these teams selections as well," Grobler tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"Myself and Coach Molefi had a chat before the selection so I am aware of what is happening and what his thoughts are as well. So it's not as if I was totally excluded, we did speak about it me and him before the announcement.
"So it's for different reasons as well. I just thought that it was a good opportunity to give some younger players an opportunity to play because of the injuries that I've had the last two seasons.
"You know it may just be important to just stay at the club and then do a bit of a longer pre-season with the team and play a few friendly games before we get to qualifying and playing official matches."
Grobler, who scored 16 goals in 34 appearances for Matsatsantsa last season, was asked if it was him who asked to be excused from the Bafana squad.
"No no no, it was the coach who had those feelings, which ja I respect and I understand," he replies.
"Look, it would have been nice to be part of the team and all that but at the same time I need to respect that. You know if I had an opportunity to play I would have given a hundred percent and played.
"But as I said, I respect his decision, and like I said the last season was very good for me, having a full pre-season with the team you know and not just going straight into games.
"So overall it is for the best. And again I think it's a good opportunity for some younger players to get some international experience as well. So overall if you ask me my opinion, I think it makes sense."
