Sekgota has already signed for Chiefs and will be moving across when AmaKhosi begin pre-season training next month.
"Based on what I know of him he has the quality to play for any big team," Zequinha tells snl24.com/kickoff from Portugal.
Zequinha was formerly on the books of FC Porto and played with Sekgota at Vitoria Setubal in 2019.
"He is a good kid who is a little bit shy which is why he doesn't just get excited off the field. The plus is that he is a good player and great human being as well.
"So, he will not have any problem whatsoever playing for a big team. He will make it happen for Chiefs with his skills. I know that Kaizer Chiefs belongs in the big three in South Africa and compares to Benfica, Porto, and Sporting here in Portugal. He has so much potential I fear that South Africa hasn't really seen what he can really do yet.
"I am talking about a player who in one-on-one situations is unbelievable. He is an amazing player in one-on-one situations, I always feel that he is even better than the players I played with at Porto in those situations.
"I just feel he needs to score more goals which means the team needs to be a bit more direct in the way it plays for him to get into scoring positions a lot more. However, one against one he is unbelievable, and I am serious about this. He is fast and will destroy everything in a one against one situation. If he has a good season with Chiefs, he can still come back to Europe."
Glimpses of what the 23-year-old have already been seen through his time at Swallows where he scored thrice this past season.
