First National Division side TS Sporting have sacked Sammy Troughton and replaced him with his assistant Selaotse 'Sly' Mosala.
Troughton joined Sporting from Witbank Spurs in November 2018, after being promised a 'technical director' position by the Nelspruit based side, but ended up taking over from then head coach Benson Mhlongo.
According to club chairman Slungu Thobela, the club's poor performance is what led to Troughton's sacking.
"Well I decided to make some structural changes both at management level and at technical level," Thobela tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"And we've parted ways with the head coach Sammy Troughton, amicably. We have decided to appoint Mr Sly Mosala as head coach. He will be assisted by Mr Solly Luvhengo.
"Nothing much led us to Sammy's sacking except the issue of results. I think the results were not forthcoming and so you know all the time you cannot be doing one and the same thing and expect a different result to change somewhere somehow.
"But he is a good coach and I think we learned a lot from him and we can work with him in the future. We cannot deal away with the possibility of working with him in the future. He is a very good coach but unfortunately the results were not forthcoming. Sly Mosala's contract is one season with an option to renew."
Former Baberwa FC and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila goalkeeper coach Nascent Nkhwashu also joins the club in the same capacity, while Cape Town City media officer Vusi Ntimane is the club's new marketing and communications manager.
"Ja I'm home now," Ntimane says. "Nothing happened, I just resigned and decided to come home."
