Stellenbosch FC midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange has explained why he did not walk away with an award from the club's end of season function.
Stellies on Monday evening rewarded their players who played a pivotal role in their successful fight to retain their status in their second season in the top flight.
Steve Barker's side survived the dreaded axe by the skin of their teeth this past weekend after finishing at position 14 on the DStv Premiership table, with a tally of just 29 points.
Behind them was Chippa United, who ended on only 27 points after being held to a 1-1 draw, as SuperSport United scored a last minute equaliser.
Nange, who is expected to join Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season, believes he didn't do enough to earn recognition but reflected on the opportunity the Cape-based outfit afforded him.
"No [I didn't deserve anything], because I didn't play much. I don't think I played as much as I expected but it's okay," Nange tells snl24.com/kickoff.

The 29-year-old former Black Leopards and Bidvest Wits star featured 24 times across all competitions in 2020/21, and missed only four games since his arrival in November.
He also contributed five goals and three assists across the league and Nedbank Cup, but insists his 1 192 minutes of action were not worthy of an accolade.
"I'm talking about game time. I think I performed well because I'm the second highest goalscorer in the team, but I played fewer minutes than everyone," he adds.
"I think it's not bad – I think I scored five goals and the top goalscorer of the team scored seven, but he played more minutes – double or so. But I don't think my performance was bad."
