Peter Shalulile paying back transfer fee to Mamelodi Sundowns

The Brazilians are reported to have spent no less than R8-million to sign the Namibia international from Highlands Park at the start of the season.

Lions of the North co-director Larry Brookstone put up a price tag of R30-million on their top marksman's head before he was sold to The Brazilians once the club was sold.

Shalulile proved once again why he was the best buy for Sundowns during the off-season after scoring a brace in a 3-2 win over Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup last 32 on Wednesday.

"He is not a very refined striker, he still makes some elementary technical mistakes but you can live with those mistakes because he gives you his heart," said Mngqithi after Shalulile walked away with the man-of-the-match award.

"For me that is more than anything. When a player gives you everything that he can give you, you always have room for some of the mistakes he will make in that process.

"I think he is trying to repay the confidence the team has shown in him, and the president for investing so much to make sure that we get him.

"You expect a lot of players to be that selfless in making sure that it is not about them getting what they want, but they also give themselves to the team, and that is what Peter is doing."

The Brazilians also signed midfielder Mothobi Mvala from Highlands Park at the beginning of the season, and he has also impressed.
