Ungenda, 24, is a central defender who has been playing for Motema Pembe while Emomo, 20, is a striker who has been turning out for Sharks XI.
Both players were initially scouted during the 2014 CHAN finals held in South Africa during which they featured for DRC.
Following a week-long investigation, snl24.com/kickoff has established that the two players have been training with the club through pre-season and have apparently made an impression, with Ungenda Muselenge being used as twin pairing with Rooi Mahamutsa while Emomo has been used at the top of the attack.
Emomo has previously been in the country and trained with AmaZulu in March, but a deal couldn’t be ironed out due to unknown reasons despite the fact that he made a huge impression.
The two trialists have been used mostly in the group of players that will make up the first team at Pirates this season.
The Pirates squad has apparently been divided into different groups through most of the pre-season training, with the core of the team training as the first group while players that will be heading out have been in their own pool.
Pirates have already signed Issa Sarr from Platinum Stars while the other two foreign players on their books are Fatau Dauda of Ghana and Mozambican striker Helder Pelembe.
