My Muti Story: Molefe Ntsoelengoe

In this edition of My Muti Story former SuperSport United and Moroka Swallows star, Molefe Ntsoelengoe reveals how Muti made a top striker miss a one-on-one chance.

"At Swallows, we used to wake up in the wee hours of match-day, we would be taken to George Goch siyogabha," Ntsoelengoe tells KickOff.

"Once we were there in George Goch besigabha sigabhe, and we would be told 'today we are winning guys', only to lose 1-0.

"We would ask our muti man 'Eddie what went wrong now?' He would apologise and promise to bring a better muti next time.

"That time we are fighting relegation we don't know what to do anymore.

"At Swallows that time a coach would be told straight not to play those who are refusing to use muti.

"The chairman would tell you straight 'If you are not doing this you are not going to play'.

"Remember in big clubs a coach is nothing, he does as told. As a coach, you do what the club tells you to do.

"At SuperSport we used holy water, ZCC pastors would come to the change room and we would be ordered to run in a circle with our eyes closed.

"A pastor would hit you very hard on your face with the water and remember we had white guys in our team [laughs].

"They hit our goalkeeper Grant Johnson with the water, and he went mad 'Fuck shit! This is Bullshit!' He shouted.

"The whole dressing room burst out laughing. Ebholweni kunzima [laughs].

"Whether these things do work or not it's difficult to tell because sometimes you would witness miracles.

"A strange thing once happened at Rand Stadium while I was still at Swallows, I forgot which team we were playing against.

"An opposition striker dribbled our whole defence including our goalkeeper Wendell Robinson, the striker was now left with an open net, all he needed was to touch the ball and it would have been a goal. But he completely missed the ball and kicked the ground instead and fell.

"No one in the Stadium could believe what had happened."
