Having rotated around the country for the group stages of the competition last year, King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban played host to the quarter-finals of the tournament this weekend before it was announced that Port Elizabeth will be hosting the semi-finals of the reserve league in two weeks’ time.
Wolfson Stadium in Nelson Mandela Bay will host the two semi-finals, both scheduled for Sunday, 15 February.
Three Pretoria teams feature in the last four of the competition, as SuperSport United secured their semi-final spot with a 2-0 victory over Platinum Stars while University of Pretoria humbled Orlando Pirates 5-2.
Mamelodi Sundowns are the Tshwane-based team in the last four following their 2-0 victory over Polokwane City, with Mpumalanga Black Aces the only side left in the competition not from the nation’s capital, securing their progress with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic.
A Pretoria-based team is therefore guaranteed a spot in the final, with a derby clash between AmaTuks and Matsastansta kicking off proceedings, before the Brazilians take on AmaZayoni.
The final and the 3rd place play-off of the tournament will take place at the Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville, Soweto on Saturday, 28 February 2015.
