The Dube Birds were sent to the NFD via the PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-Offs after finishing 15th in the Absa Premiership last season.
Talk has started to gather momentum that Swallows may be looking to buy Tuks’ place in the PSL – especially after the news that AmaZulu are set to buy Mpumalanga Black Aces’ PSL status for a reported R82-million – but Prins has shot down the idea.
“You mustn't believe in all the rumours here, really. Next week [they will be saying] I'm marrying a tree so I wouldn't believe anything … at this time there is nothing happening,” Prins tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“We are preparing for the National First Division next season, we are preparing our team and that's it, and over and above that I have no comment.”
When pressed if he has made any attempt to hold talks with University of Pretoria, Prins remained cagey.
“That's all I'm prepared to say. We are preparing for the NFD. I have been putting the team together. We are signing players on Tuesday [next week] and we will take it from there.
“I hear things about Tuks, about AmaZulu and Black Aces … I hear all kinds of nonsense but it is just a general grapevine. A grapevine is just full of grapes.”
