Niang is leaving for Cyprus this week after agreeing a season-long loan deal with Limassol and says he is delighted with the move.
“Firstly, I have no regrets about my time at Sundowns. I’m just happy that I’m moving because I want to play football. For now I want to play 90 minutes in every match – that’s what I need and maybe I will return (to Sundowns),” he says.
“It is always frustrating when I’m not playing, because I love the game and the situation at Sundowns was not easy to handle, but I handled it in a professional way. I spoke to the coach (Pitso Mosimane) and he agreed to let me go,” he adds.
Niang started just five League games and scored a solitary goal for the Brazilians last season after joining from SuperSport United.
