Lesotho star targeting PSL move

A member of the Lesotho national team is looking to use the COSAFA Cup games to save his job at his current club in the PSL, while also showcasing his true talent to potential suitors.

Tumelo Makha is part of the Lesotho outfit facing Malawi in a COSAFA Cup Group B encounter at the Free State Stadium on Thursday (kicked off at 15:00).

The midfielder is uncertain about his future with Leopards, who have an option on his contract.

"Regarding my future, it's currently unclear since my contract with Black Leopards still has an option, and that option is for Black Leopards," he confirms to this website.

"My immediate plan is to help Lesotho reach the COSAFA Cup final while performing well enough to secure a new team if Leopards decide to release me. I have signed a one-year deal with an option with Leopards.

"If Leopards exercise their option, I will play for them with all my heart. At the same time, I hope my performances in the COSAFA Cup will enable me to land a deal in the PSL.

"Since the one-year option belongs to  Leopards, I don't yet know if it will be exercised or not," says Makha.

He started six matches for Lidoda Duvha this past season, coming on as a substitute nine times.

"My season hasn't been bad, although I wouldn't say I've played enough games. My goal was to feature in all of the club's matches.

"But for now, I'm focused on the COSAFA Cup. After Malawi, we face Angola on the weekend.

"I'm pleased with the young talent Lesotho has selected for this tournament. Most of our players are 18 years old, mostly from the Lesotho U20 national team.

"The COSAFA Cup is a significant opportunity for me. It has come at just the right time (for me) to showcase my skills," he concludes.
