Eric Tinkler prepared to lose Richard Ofori and Rushine De Reuck

Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler says they have already planned for life without Rushine de Reuck and Richard Ofori in case they leave for greener pastures.

The duo have been strongly linked with Absa Premiership giants Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns following their outstanding performances this season.

On Wednesday this website spoke to Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan following reports in the Ghanian media that he is on his way to join United, as well as club chairman Farook Kadodia regarding the likelihood of Ofori leaving.

The Team of Choice are well known for not standing in a player's way if the price is good.

"There's always going to be that situation you know. We are going to have the bigger clubs looking for talented players," Tinkler tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Rushine has had a very good season, so has Richard you know. But the club has dealt with those situations in the past, and we will deal with them again whatever the outcome is.

"There always has to be a plan B [laughs]. You can't just plan for one thing. You've always got to be ready for other circumstances that may arise, so we've already planned for that. So we will be fine."

Tinkler says as a club they have not yet discussed the future of striker Jeremy Brockie, who is on loan from Sundowns. The Brazilians are expected to use the New Zealand ace as part of any deal for new players.

"You know those decisions as yet haven't been made you know," Tinkler adds. "We will not make any of the decisions until we know what is happening with the remaining six fixtures."
