Kaizer Chiefs make the short visit from their base in the south of Johannesburg across town to the east in Tembisa where a confident Highlands Park lie in wait with packet-loads of salt ready to add to the wounds of the visitors.
Makhulong Stadium will definitely be in a vibrant mood this evening with a full house a definite as AmaKhosi make a rare visit to this popular township that has been starved of a PSL club that they can identify with since the days of Tembisa Classic – who were famously nicknamed Yizo Yizo.
There is little to no doubt that focus will fall more on the travelling team than the hosts with the much heralded struggles of Chiefs falling under the microscope yet again.
Highlands – who already have three points in the bag from the one game that they have played to date – will enjoy the occasion that sets them up for what will stand out as one of their biggest crowds this season.
Whatever happens on the field for them will not be a train smash considering the Lions of the North are in their maiden season in the modern PSL era having last played top flight football back in 1993 when they were eventually swallowed into becoming Welkom Eagles.
However, Chiefs, rather more specifically their coach Steve Komphela, will know that just as bad as it is now he will not want it to get any worse by failing to take all three points from the rookies.
A defeat for AmaKhosi will be a dangerous result for Komphela.
Why so?
Komphela has made watching Kaizer Chiefs feel like going to a brothel for a hug and since we live in a world where we throw something away instead of fixing it when it breaks all indications point towards Komphela's head being firmly on the chopping block.
The only remedy to the discomfort that he has been feeling of late will be to walk away with the first set of three points for the club this season.
Chiefs don’t want to imagine another loss tonight as that means they will take longer than usual to drive out of Makhulong.
The frustration on the faces of plenty of the Chiefs players is clear for all to see following just a single win in the last 16 games in all competitions that the club has played in a period stretching back to last season.
In the current campaign Chiefs are without a win in three with two defeats and a draw all that they have to show for this season.
They know all too well that the sooner they start winning games the better.

A cushion of comfort for Komphela is that he won both his games against Allan Freese the last time these two coaches met as men in charge of PSL clubs.
Komphela was in charge of Maritzburg United during the 2014-15 season and won both league games against the Freese-coached Platinum Stars with the the last defeat leading to the sacking of the latter by Dikwena.
With all that said Highlands will not be interested in sympathising with AmaKhosi in any way as they have their own intentions in mind – which is to collect points as early as possible to ensure that they aren't mentioned in any relegation related conversations.
Following their promotion from the first division the Lions of the North have assembled a squad that appears capable of standing up to anything thrown their way.
As for experience – they will provide it all in Tapuwa Kapini, Zamuxolo Ngalo, Rudi Isaacs, Thanduyise Khuboni, Franklin Cale and Collins Mbesuma which when mixed with everything else that they have in their squad makes for a team that will not be shy to compete.
Makhulong Stadium is the venue for tonight's showdown with 19h30 the kick-off time.
