Eleazar Rodgers keen for new PSL deal after Cape Umoya United exit

A veteran former Mamelodi Sundowns striker who will be turning 37 soon has vowed to continue playing professional football next season despite his age.

Eleazar Rodgers, who recently parted ways with GladAfrica Championship outfit Cape Umoya United following the expiry of his contract with the club, is currently 36 but has made it clear he is still club-searching.

Rodgers' football career started in 2006 with Santos FC, who are now playing down in the SAFA amateur league in Cape Town, where he spent six fruitful years.

In 2012, he signed for Mamelodi Sundowns but was loaned out to Ajax Cape Town the following season, before moving to Platinum Stars in 2014.

He then went on to join Bidvest Wits, where he picked up the MTN 8, DStv Premiership and Telkom Knockout trophies during his two year stint in Braamfontein.

The lanky former Bafana Bafana forward spent the past three years with Free State Stars, Ajax and Cape Umoya, where he managed three goals in 26 games across all competitions last season.

"I'm still waiting to hear back from my agent regarding playing or where I will play, but definitely, I'll be playing still," Rodgers tells snl24.com/kickoff.
