SuperSport United will secure a top-eight finish in the DStv Premiership after defeating Moroka Swallows 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Tshwane outfit came into the clash knowing a win would cement a top-half finish with one game to spare, while Swallows still had ambitions of clinching eighth spot.
SuperSport held a decent record in this fixture, as they are unbeaten against the Dube Birds since their last seven meeting since being promoted in the 2020/21 campaign.
Gavin Hunt's charges got off to the perfect start after opening the scoring as early as the fifth minute, with youngster Bilal Baloyi finding the back of the net with his first senior goal for the club.
The Dube Birds went on the attack thereafter as SuperSport goalkeeper Ricardo Goss was called upon to make a couple key saves to deny their Soweto counterparts from equalising before the break.
However, SuperSport would go on to grab the next goal as Bradley Grobler made it 11 goals for the league campaign with a close-range finish from Siviwe Magidigidi's cross.
With not much changing in the second half, Swallows interim coach Musa Nyatama threw on Letsie Koapeng and Owethu Khumalo for the final 30 minutes in the hope of changing their fortunes.
Swallows were awarded a penalty in the final ten minutes but SuperSport goalkeeper Goss came out on top to save Gabadinho Mhango's spot-kick to round off a good victory for the home side.
