Ananias Gebhardt was rewarded for netting off the bench against Orlando Pirates on the side of Baroka, as Chippa gave Luvuyo Phewa and Nyiko Mobbie their debuts.
Baroka opened up the Chilli Boys in the first minute when a downward header from Kgodiso Monama forced Mlungisi Mazibuko to a superb near post save following a ball from the right-side.
Thokozani Sekotlong spearheaded Chippa on the charge from the right on six minutes and delivered a cross for Augustine Kwem who failed to capitalise with an open goal.
Chippa had another opener before the midway mark when a head down from Kwem led in Ramasimong Maloisane, but the defence quickly cleared the danger.
The Chilli Boys eventually made their dominant spell count after Sandile Mthethwa got on the end of a cross four minutes before halftime to tuck into the roof of the net.
Matsimela Thoka's men showed more steel ten minutes in the second half when a free-kick from Tshidiso Patjie forced Mazibuko to go down and parry. However, additional firepower from the host soon followed with the introduction of Leonardo Affonso and their top scorer Richard Mbulu.
The arrivals changed the complexion of the game for good, as Evidence Makgopa rose at the back-post 66 minutes in to send an in-swinging corner past Mazibuko.
Bakgaga completed the comeback 12 minutes later when a cross into the area from Nhlanhla Mgaga spotted Mbulu, who needed no second invitation to head in his fourth of the season.
Chippa's afternoon turned for the worse after Raymond Sibeko saw red for a second bookable offence nine minutes before full-time.
A closely contested final minutes followed with the visitors pushing for a comeback, but in the end the hosts walked away victors.
