City out to spoil Sundowns' title party

City defender Terrence Mashego insists his side will be aiming to delay the champions-elect in a DStv Premiership clash at Loftus Versveld Stadium.

The reigning champions require a solitary point to clinch a record-setting fifth league title.

"To be honest, it's going to be a tough one because as a team we have set like a target to finish second in the standings," Mashego tells KickOff.

"We have some momentum going into this encounter and we've been playing well for the past few games.

"So all we're looking for in this one is three points and a win.

"So far this season, we haven't lost to Sundowns as our defeat came after a penalty shootout.

"In the league, we played to a 1-1 draw, so I believe we can get one over them.

"Yes obviously they will want to bounce back from their weekend loss, but they know they will be playing a strong side.

"It's going be a tough game as they are looking to redeem themselves."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
