Brilliant Khuzwayo's Orlando Pirates debut pushed back again

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo will have to wait for his club debut a while longer after he was withdrawn from the Carling Black Label Cup.

Khuzwayo was initially in the Pirates starting line-up for this Saturday's Soweto Derby showdown against his former club Kaizer Chiefs by majority vote.

However, the latest line-up on Carling's website tells a different story as Wayne Sandilands has since taken over the goalkeeper's spot despite having considerably less votes.

The last update posted by @blacklabelsa on Twitter saw Khuzwayo on a total of just under 40 000 votes as at the weekend, while Sandilands is currently on 20 111.

Pirates' officials have been unavailable for comment, but it has since been confirmed by representatives that the player had been pulled from the competition's roster.

This means the 29-year-old, who arrived from Chiefs at the start of last season, will continue to wait for his Bucs debut having yet to make an appearance in the club's senior team.

Last season he turned out for the Pirates Multichoice Diski Challenge side as he looked to work his way back from a long lay-off following surgery on his ankle.

The rest of The Buccaneers line-up remains unchanged.

Pirates XI: Sandilands, Dube, Jele, Chabalala, Maela, Motshwari, Memela, Pule, Lorch, Mulenga, Shonga
