Bloemfontein Celtic players arrive in Pietermaritzburg as club is sold

It has been a turbulent 24 hours for the Celtic squad who were informed just a day ago that the club had been sold to wealthy businesswoman, Shaun Mkhize.

The players were then informed that they were required to relocate to KwaZulu-Natal immediately.

KickOff reported the sensational R50 million transfer of ownership with the club now to be known as Royal AM.

According to a source close within the club, a friendly match has been arranged between the Bloemfontein Celtic and Royal AM teams to determine the playing squad for the upcoming PSL this season.

"The Celtic players arrived in Pietermaritzburg yesterday [Monday] evening," the source informed KickOff.

"They are set to play a friendly match today and tomorrow against players that formed part Royal AM."

"This will also help finalise the team to play in the PSL this season.

"Both John Maduka and Serame Moeketsi will remain in charge of the team at the moment.

Bloemfontein Celtic, which will soon become Royale AM, begin their 2021/2022 season with a trip to Johannesburg to face Swallows FC on Sunday.

Kick-Off is at 15:00.
