Golden Arrows bagged two wins on the trot in the Betway Premiership with a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants FC on Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Akpeyi, Siyabonga Nhlapo, Vusi Sibiya and Siyabulela Shai earned a start for Gallants who suffered a season-opening defeat to Kaizer Chiefs, with Abafana Besthende featuring Knox Mutizwa and Keenan Phillips from the midweek win over Stellenbosch FC.
Marumo posed all the earlier trouble and should've gone ahead when Sibiya dropped down in the area to get a head on a curling free-kick only to be denied by the post.
Gallants pushed again ahead of the half-hour mark and had first-time effort by Shai from outside the area cleared off the goal-line by Phillips.
The missed chances haunted the visitors five minutes before halftime when Mutizwa ran in-behind following a route -one from goalkeeper Edward Maova and cut-inside to blast the net.
Arrows made it two on the stroke of the interval after Nduduzo Sibiya found acres of space in the area and easily headed in a pin-point delivery from a free-kick.
Bahlabane Ba Ntwa introduced a double substitution before the second half, with Thapelo Mokobodi and Daniel Msendami running on from the dugout.
Following a contrasting opening half, the chances were extremely minimal though the visiting outfit penetrated forward in numbers in order for a route back in but battled to find any.
Substitute Msendami enjoyed a surging run out wide and evaded a number of challengers to get in from a tight angle and forced Maova to punch for a corner-kick.
Abafana Besthende were more content on the counter-attack in the closing phases and had a few situations to pose problems but indecision amongst others let it all up.
The host collected a comfortable victory in the end to continue their perfect start to the season, while Gallants picked up another loss.
