Sekhukhune United were denied their third consecutive victory after a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership's Limpopo derby on Sunday afternoon.
Sekhukhune handed new signing Katlego Otladisa, on loan from Orlando Pirates, his debut, alongside recalls for Chibuike Ohizu and Linda Mntambo, as three changes after a narrow win over Marumo Gallants.
Polokwane, on the other hand, welcomed back Thabang Matuludi and brought back Thato Letshedi as two changes following a goalless draw against Golden Arrows.
Babina Noko had a chance to have a perfect start after Tresor Yamba latched onto a cross by Keletso Makgalwa in the box but guided his header wide.
The game opened up after that but it was Oswin Appollis just before the half-hour mark, who came close to breaking the deadlock for City with a strike from the edge of the box that was saved by goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare.
Raymond Daniels eventually broke the deadlock for Polokwane ten minutes before the interval with a deflected shot that wrong footed Sangare.
Sekhukhune had a response just before the break after Yamba finally found the back of the net with a close-range header from another cross by Makgalwa.
The sides took time to get going from the break but Phuti Mohafe's charges were having momentum towards the hour-mark as Daniels had a big chance after going through on goal but his low shot was saved by Sangare in a one-on-one.
Sekhukhune felt like they were over-run in midfield after the hour-mark, as they brought on Relebogile Mokhuoane in place of Thabang Monare for fresh legs.
Lehlohonolo Seema's troops continued to absorb the pressure and in the closing stages, they also rested Linda Mntambo, who was replaced by Lesedi Kapinga to look for chances on transitions.
However, the pace of the game slowed down in the dying minutes and the game ended all square.
