Cape Town City made it back-to-back wins under Muhsin Ertugral after defeating Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday evening.
Thalente Mbatha replaced the hard-running Makhehlene Makhaula as the Buccaneers' only change, while Jody Ah Shene, Kamohelo Mokotjo and Haashim Domingo were recalled by City.
Buccaneers looked to hit the front-foot minutes in as Relebohile Mofokeng lashed a long pass to the left of the area into the side-netting after cutting inside.
The momentum continued where a short free-kick moved to the right for a cutback to the edge of the area for Dlamini, who sent his first-time against woodwork.
City contained the tough opening on the half-hour mark and very nearly had the breakthrough with a scorcher from way out by Prins Tijueza.
As it looked to balance out, the Buccaneers still had the better moments courtesy of the tricky movements from Mofokeng and partner-in-crime Mohau Nkota.
Ah Shene aimed to put the host ahead a few minutes from the break through a clever attempt from a tight angle, but he was kept in check by the counterparts.
In a sharp response, Pirates managed to get star man Tshegofatso Mabasa in sight with Mohau Nkota central to it all but the former dismally snapped his lines.
The Buccaneers got a clear route to goal in the closing stages where Patrick Maswanganyi won a foul in the box to win a penalty and stepped up only to be denied by the upright.
Pirates would live to rue the moment after the Citizens pushed high to retrieve possession and cutback to see Darwin Gonzalez's deflected shot wrong-foot Chaine on-route to the net.
As the minutes ticked on, Pirates were unable to master a response and saw the Citizens claim another Soweto scalp to continue their perfect start under Muhsin Ertugral.
