Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe says his side is ready to take on anyone as Rise And Shine book an MTN8 quarter-final clash against Orlando Pirates.
The Limpopo outfit will kick start the 25/26 football season with the Last eight clash against the Buccaneers in the MTN8 Quarter-finals. Pirates finished second in the Betway Premiership 24/25 season, while City finished seventh.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after a goalless draw that denied Kaizer Chiefs a spot in the top eight, Mohafe insisted that his side was ready for any team.
"It’s always tough to play the big three, and it’s not by mistake or by fluke that we qualified for the top eight," Mohafe said.
"So, for us to be there, it means we are ready to take whoever is in the top eight. We have to brace ourselves for that and say let’s go and give it a shot because if you can’t try, you’ll never know."

It is the second consecutive season that City have qualified for the MTN8 and will draw confidence from their quarter-final win over Mamelodi Sundowns in this season's edition of the cup competition.
"We have progressed as a team because when you check last season, we were in position eight, so we are in position seven, we are progressing," Mohafe added.
"As a team, we are growing and considering the fact that we had some difficulties during the season, we lost form at some point, we had multiple injuries, and I think in that one, we did well as a team."
