In this edition of the Supporters Forum, Orlando Pirates supporter Frank Masondo, commonly known as 'Beekeeper', speaks to KickOff about his enduring relationship with the Buccaneers.
Who is Beekeeper?
"My full name is Frank Mxolisi Masondo, but in football, I'm known as Beekeeper.
"I'm a bee farmer, specializing in beekeeping. I currently reside in Vosloorus, but I don't belong to any supporters' branch, I consider myself a branch on my own.
"I'm not against supporters' branches, it's just that I haven't thought about joining one because I'm usually busy with my bee farming. I don't want to start something that I can't fully commit to."
Which club did you support before Pirates?
"I have supported Orlando Pirates since I was a child, it's in my blood. I grew up in oPhongolo, where the only teams we knew were Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. I chose happiness and joined Pirates."
Are you happy with the management?
"I'm very happy. At the moment, I have no complaints."
Are you satisfied with the coach?
"I'm more than happy. They call him Spanish Guitar, and I truly appreciate his work."
How do you feel about the players?
"I'm more than 100% happy with the team. They are not playing just to entertain the fans, they play for the badge. They understand that at a big team like Pirates, a 10-year trophy drought is unacceptable."
Who would you like the team to sign?
"If they could sign Appollis and two additional strikers, it would be great. We need to create competition for the strikers we currently have.
"Pirates is a significant team that participates in continental competitions, we need depth in our squad."
Your message to the team:
"Firstly, supporters should refrain from posting negative comments about our players on social media. These boys do see what we write on our platforms. Additionally, the fighting with Chiefs fans when they come to Orlando Stadium to support whoever we are playing against must stop. At Pirates, we are happy people, we don't fight.
"And to the management and players, thank you for making us happy."
