Soweto giants Orlando Pirates are reportedly edging closer to the acquisition of an additional Dondol Stars player after already identifying goalkeeper Sphamandla Gumede as a transfer target for next season.

Pirates and SuperSport United are both believed to be vying for Gumede's signature after impressing during his side's surprise Nedbank Cup run to reach the quarterfinals of the Ke Yona Cup tournament.
KickOff can reveal that the Buccaneers are also chasing the signature of midfielder Thabang Mnyembane. "Pirates are interested in signing Mnyembane, a source within Dondol Stars reveals to KickOff.
"The relevant people at Pirates are currently handling the issue of signing him for next season."
Dondol Stars have also cemented their position in the ABC Motsepe National playoffs to be held in Durban in June.
